Trong giai đoạn phân rã nhân tế bào, enzyme endonuclease được hoạt hóa và ADN bị cắt thành những đoạn ngắn được xếp đều đặn theo kích thước. Khi thực hiện quá trình điện chuyển các đoạn ADN này trên thạch trắng chúng tụ tập lại thành những nhóm tạo nên dạng hình những nấc thang đặc trưng. Các thí nghiệm về thang DNA đã phân biệt quá trình chết rụng với chứng thiếu máu cục bộ hay hiện tượng tế bào chết do nhiễm độc.<br /><br /><h3><span style="font-size: large;">II. Trong trường hợp này, những khối các tế bào trong mô bị sưng phù và sau khi nghiên cứu người ta nhận thấy rằng các khối tế bào bào này không còn tồn tại hoạt động chuyển hóa. DNA nhân ngưng tụ, tập trung nhiều nhất ở rìa nhân và các thành phần tế bào bắt đầu phân hủy nhanh chóng và không kiểm soát được. It is a normal phenomenon, occurring frequently in a multicellular organism.<br />   The cells of a multicellular organism are members of a highly organized community. The number of cells in this community is tightly regulated—not simply by controlling the rate of cell division, but also by controlling the rate of cell death. If cells are no longer needed, they commit suicide by activating an intracellular death program.
